This is an outstanding example of a great truck. The Mack Fire Trucks were the E-One's of their day. When someone wanted the best fire truck money could buy they went out and got a Mack! The B85F pictured here is one of the more expensive models. It has the 707CI high performance engine with duel ignitions backed by a 5-speed manual transmission. The truck has the best pump available - the Hale 1500 GPM water pump. Everything about this fire truck is done right. If you want a piece of American history concerning the Fire Protection industry it doesn't get any better than this MACK B85F FIRE TRUCK!
Everything you see works. All the lights, siren and the gauges in the dash and on the pump panel work. A few of the pressure gauges on the pump panel need to be recalibrated. The oak wood in the hose bed has been restained and sealed with polyurethane. Most of the visible nuts, bolts & screws have been replaced with polished stainless steel (all the original nuts and bolts, and chrome parts have been saved and come with the truck.) All the door handles and window handles have been replaced, new hub caps, new chrome hood latches and new detail items all give the truck great eye appeal.
All the chrome railing, bumpers, radiator cover and pump panel items are in original condition. All of this chrome is in good shape and retains the patina of a well cared for, low mileage garage kept vehicle. All of the original solid brass nozzles, one 1 1/2" and one 2 1/2" nozzles, 2 gated Y's and 2 reducers, 2 1/2" play pipe with ends, hydrant wrench, 2 hose wrenches tool box and small hose wrenches are still with the truck as well as 150 feet of 1 inch hose with brass ends and 150 feet of 3 inch hose with brass ends. All of the Michelin tires are in good shape also.
The paint job on this fire truck is a 10 out of 10. It is as slick as it gets. All that is left to do is keep it polished and enjoy the beauty of this bright red fire truck. I will let the pictures do most of the talking, because it's hard to capture the beauty of this truck in words.
Please call us 256-461-9773 to make an appointment to see this beautiful fire truck. You will not be disapointed! This truck has been viewed over 750 time in the first month it was listed. Act fast as I don't believe it will be for sale very long. I know I'm asking a lot of money for an old fire truck but you can't build one for $58K or find one as nice as this someone is willing to sell.
